One of the greatest benefits, as it relates to farm profitability, is the opportunity to gradually cut back on chemical and fertilizer input once you start to incorporate a complete biological program.

Biological products increase the uptake and effectiveness of all applied products in addition to releasing more nutrients that are bound in the soil reserves. A complete biological product such as Pro-Soil’s Starter Pro, Foundation 1-0-1 or Triple 3 Vital Boost will allow growers to gradually reduce input cost in three major areas: fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides.

Growers have discovered that by introducing the Pro-Soil products and gradually reducing input that it is possible to achieve a 30% reduction over a three year period without reduction in yield. In many cases yields have actually increased while following the gradual reduction program.

Here are some suggestions to improve your farm profitability and increase your soil and plant health at the same time:

4 Simple Steps to Improve Farm Profitability
while Increasing  Soil & Plant Health

  1. Follow a gradual reduction schedule in 10% increments each season for three seasons.

  2. Add 5 gallons Pro-Soil PS-Foundation 1-0-1 or Triple 3 Vital Boost to every 1000 gallon tank of herbicide and insecticide.

  3. Include your Bio program whenever you are using any liquid fertilizer. When using a high phosphorus or potassium based fertilizer run equal amounts of water to the amount of fertilizer that you are using. (Example: If you are running 3 gallons of 7- 24-3 starter, run an additional three gallons of water and your P-S.)

  4. Handle Pro-Soil products like any chemicals and always conduct a compatibility test when using the product. Always use agitation when possible.

Remember: We are trying to help you achieve a healthier soil and a healthier plant. Many of our inputs with petroleum based, high salt fertilizer and the addition of numerous herbicides and insecticides are actually working against the overall health of the soil and the plant. We are by no means opposed to their use, we are however against the misuse and overuse of many of our inputs without a biological foundation for them to work.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO STRIVE FOR MAXIMUM PROFIT  PER ACRE

The results achieved from using Pro-Soil can vary depending upon many factors. Various soil types, climatic conditions and crop varieties all play a role as to the overall benefits. We have found that most growers will see a response the first year on the program. However, the greatest benefits are usually seen in the third to fifth year on the program. This is due to the mellowing of the soil, the complexity of the soil biological activity and the conversion of the increased root mass into organic matter.
