Biostimulant Impact

How can such a small amount of biological stimulants have such a major impact on plant production , health, etc? A lot of us have a tendency to think that more is better but in reality that is not often the case. One only has to look at the technology that resulted from the splitting of the atom and the tremendous energy release that it creates to realize that small amounts can indeed bring about major changes. We begin to appreciate that that combinations and splitting of small particles can result in major creative or destructive energy releases. For example, just a small amount of the biological agent Anthrax when properly released is enough to kill millions of people.

Like wise molecules we call biostimulants such as enzymes, hormones, amino acids, etc. when combined with various nutrients have a tremendous potential for creating all kinds of beneficial improvements within plants. Let’s take one example: Cytokinin, a natural biostimulant, is one of the major plant hormones which has been identified by science and which we can now synthetically duplicate. Normally produced in the root system of plants and then transported to the part of the plant where it is needed, it has among other effects, a tremendous influence on cell division, preventing of plant aging, and initiating of new growth. It takes a very small amount to have a major impact upon a plant. If we were to take an acre of ground that contained

26,000 plants and I O ounces of liquid was evenly spread over that acre, and if, 4 hundreds of one percent of that I O ounces was Cytokinin, then each plant would receive over 780,000,000,000 cytokinin molecules. With this type of stimulation we can start to see how such small amounts can have major effects.
